We’re beyond excited to announce that WordFrame has placed first once again, this time in Challenge Two: The Pitch of the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES). After weeks of writing our pitch, and ultimately starting over, our team took the stage to present WordFrame to a panel of judges and came out on top.
The Pitch: More Than Just a Presentation
Challenge Two is not reading off slides. It is showing you really do know your business inside out. It is your time to shine, prove your idea and back it up with true insight and intent. We knew this was a major point for WordFrame, so we made the most of it.
Our talk was focused on the core issue that we are tackling, namely the lack of open, ethical writing help for NCEA students. We introduced WordFrame as the solution, a cautious AI-powered editor meant to help student writing rather than blur into doing it for them. From structure help and feedback tools to research support and clarity features, we are building a tool that enables students to get better, not cheat.
What Distinguished Us
What made our pitch stand out? We believe it was three things:
Clarity – We simply and concisely explained to you what WordFrame does, how it operates and why it is needed
Purpose – We are not here to launch another app. We are solving an extremely valid problem we have experienced ourselves, and that authenticity came across big time
Momentum – We backed up our business with proof of theory, initial user feedback and a distinct direction of where we are heading
The judges could see our potential and gave us first prize, along with cash funding to take our idea further.
Where to From Here?
With two regional wins now behind us, we are now focusing on growth and release. We're engaging new users, building new features, and setting up Challenge Three: Promotion and Sales. This is where WordFrame officially enters the public arena.
We're also in talks with students, teachers, and schools who are eager to be involved in the future of WordFrame. If that's your case, we'd be happy to hear from you.
Thanks for the Journey
These successes would not have been possible without so many others. Thank you to our mentors, the YES organisers, Marlborough Boys' College staff and anyone who helped us refine our pitch and keep us on track. Your time, motivation and guidance made all the difference.
We have now established that WordFrame is not only a theory. It's an important solution with real-world implications. And that's only the beginning.
